Since 2011 is now over I think a post of my top 11 of 2011 is an appropriate first post for 2012. I got the idea from Lilit at Makeup and Macaroons (one of my favourite bloggers). 2011 was a year of discovery makeup wise for me. Only one product was used before 2011. I experimented with new products and brands and have found some absolute favourites! My top 11 is in no particular order.
1. Clinique 3-Step Skincare
I started using this in October 2010. I have used it all year and it has kept my skin in great condition. I find it is quite basic in what it does, but I don't have problem skin so I find it suitable. I am considering changing my skincare this year, but we'll see.. (This photo is of my travel size set because, I couldn't be bothered to get my normal set out of the bathroom =])
2. Purr by Katy Perry EDP
I purchased this when it was first released. I instantly fell in love with the bottle, is was so cute and different from other perfume bottles. I love the smell of this, it is a fresh floral scent. Very pretty for day or night.
3. Chanel Perfection Lumiere Foundation
I purchased this in November and I LOVE it. When a foundation is this good, I don't care how much it costs. A full review will be posted in time.
4. Chanel Illusion D'Ombre
I love these eye shadows. At this time I only have two but I plan to buy more soon. These are an amazing texture - like spongy mousse and so easy to apply. Again a full review will come in time.
5. YSL Rouge Volupte Lipsticks
These lipsticks are amazing. An amazing range of colours, they feel amazing on the lips and the packaging is beautiful. In about 4 months my collection of these has increased from none to six.
6. Nars Deep Throat Blush
I was a bit late jumping on to the Nars blush bandwagon, but this blush is so beautiful. I also have Orgasm from Nars but I find I reach for Deep Throat more often. It is quite shimmery but applied lightly it is subtle.
7. Clinique Chubby Stick
I own five of these and I love them. Perfect for those days when you are going for the 'no makeup, makeup' look. They are moisturising and add a light sheen of colour to the lips.
8. Lancome Doll Eyes Mascara
I first tried this when it arrived in my Lust Have It sample box. It is an amazing mascara that makes my lashes look so full and long. In fact whilst wearing this I have had people comment on how long my lashes are. Funny story when I have put this on and put my glasses on with letting the mascara dry, I have ended up with mascara on my lenses.
9. Chanel Nail Colour in Peridot
This was my first Chanel nail polish and it is such an amazing colour. Looks different in every light and gets many compliments. Doesn't wear very long on my nails but then most colours don't.
10. Sally Hansen Salon Effects Nail Polish Strips
I am so glad these have been created. A great range of patterns, super easy to apply and lasts so long on my nails that I end up taking them off because I get bored of them. I have even got my Mum and Nanna into wearing these (I have to apply them for them though =]).
11. Lust Have It, ILoveThisBox & BellaBox Subscription Boxes
I had no idea that these boxes existed in other countries until I heard about the Australian versions launching. I know that there is also GlossyBox but I have cancelled that subscription (wasn't happy with them). I have found these three the best available. I love getting a little surprise package delivered to my mail box and being able to try new products at home.
Let me know which products you have loved this year and which of these you would like reviews on.
I would love to know which colors you have in the Chanel shadows and YSL lipsticks. I have Chanel Epatant and love it. However, my local stores are sold out of the other colors which means if I want more it will have to be an online purchase.
ReplyDeleteI too LOVE the YSL lippies and Clinique Chubby sticks! So much fun :)
ReplyDeleteMichelle - Ohh I love how Epatant looks! I have the Chanel eye shadows in Emerveille and Illusoire. I am going to do a post soon on my YSL lipsticks.
ReplyDeleteChelsea - I love them too, thanks for commenting.
