YSL Volupte Lipsticks - Review

Aren't they beautiful?

I just love these lipsticks! Currently there is three different varieties: Rouge Volupte, Rouge Volupte Perle and Volupte Sheer Candy. I own three of each variety. These lipsticks are so luxurious, in both packaging and the actual lipstick. The Rouge Volupte and the Rouge Volupte Perle have a gold casing and the Volupte Sheer Candy have a silver casing.

Rouge Volupte are highly pigmented, glossy colour. Rouge Volupte Perle are a more creamy, shiny but still pigmented colour. Volupte Sheer Candy are a glossy lip balm with a sheer colour. Both Rouge Volupte and Rouge Volupte Perle have a SPF 15.

Unfortunately I am not doing lip swatches. I had a dentist appointment yesterday and ended up having a tooth removed, so my face is still a bit swollen - not a good look. =]

YSL Rouge Volupte

No. 1 Nude Beige, No. 8 Fetish Pink, No. 27 Rose Paris

Rouge Volupte

No. 1 Nude Beige
The perfect pinky-nude for my pale skin tone. Very creamy and smooth and applies like a dream. Lasts for 2-3 hours on my lips without eating or drinking. I find it quite moisturising on my lips.

No. 8 Fetish Pink
My first YSL lipstick. A bright pink, I consider it a Barbie pink. Again very smooth and applies easily. Lasts similar amount as Nude Beige but is more drying on my lips.

No. 27 Rose Paris
A super bright orangey pink. Perfect for summer. I find this is a little over the top applied straight from the bullet, but is perfect applied with a lip brush. I find this lasts around 3 hours and wears off with a nice stain left on my lips.

Rouge Volupte Perle

No. 107 Impetuous Beige, No. 108 Celestial Mauve, No. 112 Spellbinding Violet

Rouge Volupte Perle

No. 107 Impetuous Beige
A creamy beige that is less pink than Nude Beige. This colour is actually quite peachy on the lips. These are even more creamy than the Rogue Volupte lipsticks. This lasts around 2 hours on the lips.

No. 108 Celestial Mauve
A beautiful shiny, pale pink with a mauve tinge. Very, very creamy and can be difficult to apply because it feels like it slides off my lips. Lasts a short time but with a case this pretty, I don't mind whipping it out to reapply regularly.

No. 112 Spellbinding Violet
A bright, deep violet. I haven't actually worn this out yet - I have to build up the confidence first =]. Another creamy formula that glides on smoothly. It looks stunning on the model in the Fall 2011 campaign.

Volupte Sheer Candy

No. 3 Juicy Grapefruit, No. 4 Succulent Pomegranate, No. 6 Luscious Cherry

Volupte Sheer Candy

No. 3 Juicy Grapefruit
This is really just a shiny balm, on my lips it leaves no colour. It is very moisturising and leaves a subtle shimmer on my lips.

No. 4 Succulent Pomegranate
A beautiful pinky-red. It gives a nice sheen of colour onto my lips and lasts a couple of hours. When the shine wears off it leaves a pretty pink stain on my lips. Again it is very moisturising.

No. 6 Luscious Cherry
A good red for people who are scared of red lipsticks. A nice subtle sheen of red colour is left on the lips. As with the others it is very moisturising.

  1. I freaking love these lipsticks! I have Rouge Volupte in nude beige, and sheer candy in pomegranite! They're the best! I'm jealous of your collection x
