I purchased this lipstick last month as part of my Harrods Haul. It should come as no surprise to you that I LOVE Chanel lipsticks (well, I love any Chanel products). When I read that Chanel was releasing a new version of the Rouge Allure formula I just had to get one. I have previously only tried the Velvet (matte) versions of the Rouge Allure.
The Rouge Allure lipsticks come in a gorgeous & sleek, click to open tube. It is of course in the classic black and gold. I really love this packaging - it feels and looks very luxurious.
I chose the shade 94 Extatique which is a gorgeous bright pink. It also has a fuchsia-pink shimmer. I absolutely love this colour. It is perfect for day or night. It is the shade of lipstick I find myself always attracted to.
This isn't an overly creamy lipstick but it's not drying either. Though it is not creamy it is still very smooth to apply. I found whilst wearing it that it did not add a lot of moisture to my lips but it also didn't dry them out. It is very comfortable to wear. I forget I am wearing it, there is no heaviness with it.
I also noticed that the Rouge Allure is only lightly scented. Those who have a Chanel lipstick will know they usually have a quite heavy rose scent. This is much subtler.
The less creamy formula also leads to a longer wear time which is fantastic. The lipstick is nicely pigmented and on my lips I have found lasts around 5-6 hours. The only downside is I find when it is wearing away it leaves a bit of a ring around the lips. You know the one, where it looks like lip liner... yeah not a good look.
Overall I really love this lipstick and cannot wait to get to a Chanel counter to pick up some more. I have my eyes on around 4 other shades! It is really just a beautiful lipstick and there are some gorgeous shades available. I am not sure of the Australian retail price but I assume it will be around $50.00 for 3.5g of product.
Have you tried the new Rouge Allure lipsticks? What do you think?
Thanks for the review! :) It's so luxurious, as usual.
