Face of Australia (FoA) recently released a new limited edition nail enamel collection entitled Carnivale. FoA's nail polish collections are always amazing (think the last one which was Glitterati) so I was really excited about picking up some of the shades. This collection is even more awesome as all the polishes are textured. Think OPI's Liquid Sand but almost 1/4 of the price!
The collection features eight shades, I have only picked up five so far but may grab the rest at a later date (if they are still available). The first one I tried and the one I am featuring here is Midnight Fireworks.
Midnight Fireworks is a very pretty glittery gold shade. Two coats were needed for a fully opaque application, though you could get away with one. The polish was super easy to apply, application was very smooth and quick. The polish has the perfect consistency. Drying time was also pretty quick.
I didn't wear a base coat nor a top coat with this polish. No base coat because I was lazy and no top coat as it would change the textured effect of the polish. I started to get some chipping on day two which is pretty normal for my nails with any polish. Therefore I won't hold it against FoA.
I find this polish an elegant way to wear glitter on my nails. It gives the full on glitter effect without looking tacky as some glitters can especially in a work environment.
The other four shades I purchased from the collection are L-R: Masquerade, Ferris Wheel, Summer Lovin' and My Island Home. I think the next one I will try is Ferris Wheel, look at it's prettiness!
Overall, I love how FoA release quality, on-trend products at such an affordable price. Plus they are an Australian company and that just makes them awesome.
The Carnivale Nail Enamel collection is available now at FoA stockists. They are a steal - they retail at just $5.95 a bottle! If you are unable to find in store, Priceline currently has all shades in stock on their website here.
What are your thoughts on the Carnivale collection? Do you want to see any other shades featured?
I really like the look of the pink one. I like the look of the textured nail polishes but tend to just scratch them off my nails so it'd be a waste to get another one.
ReplyDeleteThe texture can seem strange. Maybe a top coat would smooth it over?
DeleteThe gold looks so pretty and definitely something I'd wear! I think the whole collection has some really pretty colours and I like that the texture isnt too 'sandy'
ReplyDeleteTo me, this shade just felt like a normal glitter polish on the nails. The texture is quite fine in these polishes.
DeleteThat's stunning - is Summer Lovin' a liquid sands type polish too?
ReplyDeleteYup! The whole collection has the textured 'liquid sands' look :)
DeleteThis is so pretty! I have the entire collection and while the normal colours are pretty, the glitter ones are out of this world! xx
ReplyDeleteI almost got the whole collection but then I restrained myself. I don't wear polish that often was my reasoning but picking up the other shades is very very tempting.
DeleteThat looks really pretty, very similar to the liquid sands! Love that shade too!
ReplyDeleteIt is a gorgeous shade and pretty much exactly the same as the OPI Liquid Sands but so much cheaper :)
Deletethese are gorgeous!! definitely going to pick up a few. masquerade and ferris wheel are stunning!
ReplyDeleteThere next on my list to wear :)
